Night Out Under The Stars

This program is currently unavailable. Click here to view all of our current programs.

Starry Sky

You are invited to join us for a memorable night under the stars to enjoy the annual Perseid Meteor Shower. This will be held at the STARFIELD OBSERVATORY in Kennebunk, built by the Astronomical Society of Northern New England 14 years ago. This meteor shower will definitely add a dash of magic and motion to an otherwise seemingly static night. Then the moon will rise and we will also see the bright planets Mars and Saturn through some of the large telescopes present at the observatory. Bernie is actively involved in astronomy outreach and education in this area, and also writes in various astronomical publications. Participants should bring their own chair, and are welcome to bring personal telescopes to the event.
